Gulf Craft's new SilverCat 40 combines offshore stability with a slimmer profile built for practical UK day cruising
There’s a new fleet of power cats on UK shores and it comes from the famous UAE-based Gulf Craft Group – parent company of Majesty Yachts, Nomad and Oryx.
Drawing on more than 40 years of expertise, the SilverCat fleet runs from 34 to 46ft, with open-console sports fishers and cabin models at the heart of the story.
The 40 you see here, however, comes either in semi-enclosed CX form with an open coupé-style aft end or as the LUX variant, which closes that up for year-round practicality.
As a cat, it combines natural stability at anchor with a large aft deck, but the fact that it’s slightly slimmer than most cats will add extra appeal in terms of the aesthetic and the handling; and it will mean good things for cost and practicality in terms of berthing too.
It’s a day boat rather than a cruiser, but pricing from this powerhouse of a brand should be highly competitive, so look out for it in the UK through Williams Marine Water Sports, based in Southampton.
